Once again I was lucky enough to win a Global Salon Business Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence.
This year the presentation was held in Los Angeles and was a glittering event, most of the three day celebrations and education held at various locations in Los Angeles. We all stayed at the Renaissance Hotel and the first party on Friday night was hosted by John Paul DeJoria of Paul Mitchell Systems, who was at the entrance personally to greet his guests. What a great night it was superb location, great food and great inspiration from J.P., Robert Cromeans and Angus Mitchell.
The party on Saturday night was hosted by Paula Kent Meehan at her Beverly Hills Estate, which once belonged to Elvis Presly. What a great evening, cocktails first then dinner on the tennis court. Entertainment for the evening was a Elvis impersonator who was really great and set the mood. The house and gardens are superb,a spectaculer Japenese garden next to the main house and the tennis court was used for the dinner, great attention to detail.
Whilst in the area we took the opportunity to walk around some of the adjacent streets which was an education in itself. I have never seen so many spectacular gardens anywhere in the world, all look as if they must have at least 4 full time gardening staff.
On Sunday morning we were taken over to the UCLA for a day of lectures featuring some of the best salon business brains you could hope to find
